Artist Bio

Leaza Abel began her photography journey as a young child, always carrying a disposable camera, but it was in high school that she found her love for the art. She is currently working towards a master's degree in photography at the Academy of Art University. Her bachelor's degree in psychology allows her to delve into the human connection and emotional side of photography.  

Leaza is based in Orange County, California, and currently, her work spans fine art photography, portraits, and self-portraits. She captures moments that feel powerful, emotional, and honest. Her fine art self-portrait work utilizes symbolism and visual metaphors to explore emotion from the inner self. It examines vulnerability and perception through controlled compositions. Her portraiture work creates a comfortable space for individuals, allowing authenticity and depth.  

In addition to her academic practice, she has continued to expand her portfolio personally through photographing family, friends, and their hosted events. These projects allow her to continue her exploration of connection and presence.
